I know many of you have been wanting me to post new photos of Nic again, so to continue our birthday weekend updates I have done just that! Since our last update, I have been working on adding photos from the award ceremonies Nic has attended this year – 3 in total … and 400+ HQ photos from them!
As posted about at the time, Nic attended the Golden Globe Awards in January, where she and Hemingway & Gelhorn co-star Clive Owen presented the award for Best Original Screenplay, which went to an absent Woody Allen for Midnight In Paris. Later that month Nic popped up at the Australian Academy Of Cinema And Television Arts’ 1st Annual Awards in Hollywood, where she presented her friends Meryl Streep and Russell Crowe with awards. And then earlier this month she and her husband did their annual walk down the ACM Awards red carpet in Las Vegas. She looked beautiful at all 3 events, but I absolutely adore her look at the AACTA’s – that Collette Dinnigan lace dress is to die for! Definitely one of my favourite recent looks of hers. Incidently, her Globes dress was Versace, and her black ACM dress was L’Wren Scott.
As I said, I’ve now uploaded over 400 fabulous HQ photos from these events. There are some particularly gorgeous close-up shots from the AACTA’s that I know you won’t want to miss!
Unfortunately I haven’t had as much time to work on the site today as I’d hoped, because of Easter, so I haven’t got in as many updates as planned … but I’ll pack several more into the next few days, if all goes to plan
• The Golden Globe Awards – High Quality x110
• The Golden Globe Awards – HBO Dinner – High Quality x6
• Australian Academy Of Cinema And Television Arts’ 1st Annual Awards – High Quality x204
• ACM Awards x7
• ACM Awards – High Quality x91

Nicole’s Magic officially celebrates 10 years online today! The site opened it’s doors to you on April 7th 2002, sporting a red Moulin Rouge themed layout (10 years later – nothing’s changed!) and has since grown into the large fanbase for Nicole that it is now.
It seems strange to say it’s been online for 10 years – it’s gone so quickly!! We’ve watched Nicole recover from her divorce, win an Oscar, get married again, have a baby…
“If you enter the dark side of life, and come through it, you emerge with more strength and passion.”
Nicole’s Magic started out because of my fascination with this woman who was thrown into the spotlight in 2001. After watching Moulin Rouge on the big screen, seeing photos of Nic and reading about her, she stuck with me, and there was just something about her that appealed to me. At the time, I was a big fan of my friend April’s Reese Withespoon fansite (which, incidently, I now run myself) – it seemed so fun to run a website like that – so I decided I’d try and put together a website myself, as a means of learning more about this Nicole Kidman. The rest, as they say, is history. The site had a great reaction from fans and I loved finding and creating new things to post on the website to share with other fans.
As my interest in Nic grew, and I was building this site up, I watched more and more of her movies, and that made me fall madly in love with all her work. She has such a variety of films in her filmography, and such incredible screen presence, it was exciting to slowly well, quickly, actually, work my way through it all. Watching that variety of work opened me up to new genres, actors and directors, and definitely developed my love of film. And then of course there is Nicole’s personality and her amazing strength of character, which is inspiring, to put it simply. I’m glad I took the chance to open this site, it’s been great for so many reasons.
Running this site has been such a great way to get to learn more about Nic, follow her career, promote her work, and share my love for her with you, her fellow fans!
An anniversary would not be complete without a few thank-you’s, and there’s lots of people who deserve credit for their help with Nicole’s Magic. April, for inspiring me to start this site, and Jen for giving us our first proper hosting. Some fabulously supportive visitors from over the years: Marya, Mags, Lex, ‘skanky’, Mariana, Melanie, Lea, Carla, Peter, peteto, abby, tulipa, Larisa, Bec, Ricky, Nessa, Hamish, Nicoleta, Josie. Our loyal forum members. Kelly – you’ve contributed so much to this site, this is a big and very appreciative thank you to you. Gertie at Fan-Sites.org, as we’d be long gone without her hosting services. Lindsey, Frederik and Fran at the former Pfeiffer The Face my fansite inspirations. Celyn, Maria and Luciana.
I’m so proud to run a fansite for such an incredible and iconic actress, and I hope you enjoy it and share the love put into it. Thank you for your support and visits over the last 10 years. I think it’s time for some absinthe to celebrate!

As promised, I am packing more birthday updates in! I have now updated the Gallery with some additional photoshoot images, including more from the Brazilian Shopping Mall advert photoshoot, and some fantastic out-takes from Nic’s recent Marie Claire photoshoot. I’ve also replaced the photos from a 2008 shoot with HQ versions plus added more from that shoot.
And saving the best for last – we have 34 super gorgeous HQ photos from a portrait shoot Nic did earlier this year whilst promoting Hemingway & Gelhorn during HBO’s Winter Press Tour (more on that soon). She looks gorgeous, and we are very lucky to get these in HQ! Please consider that, and don’t re-post these elsewhere
Enjoy ^_^

This month – tomorrow to be exact – this website marks 10 years online! Nicole’s Magic opened it’s doors on April 7th 2002, and now 10 years later we are still here – a little battered content/update wise, but still looking pretty good (I will never tire of this spectacular layout). I will save the proper birthday celebrations and thank you’s until tomorrow. To celebrate our 10 years, I am planning to work super-hard to get lots of new content up and many updates in this month, the start of which will be up tomorrow. Rarities and exclusive content ahead!

Thesp would portray Kelly in her 6th year as princess of Monaco
Having beaten out some stiff competition, Nicole Kidman is in negotiations to play Grace Kelly in Olivier Dahan’s “Grace of Monaco,” which Pierre-Ange Le Pogam is producing with scribe Arash Amel.
Le Pogam is fully financing the $15 million pic, which boasts a script that appeared on the 2011 Black List. Kidman’s deal is not yet closed, but she is in advanced talks to play the “Rear Window” star who became the princess of Monaco.
Nearly every top actress in Hollywood chased the demanding yet coveted role.
Set between December 1961 and November 1962, story finds Kelly as a former Oscar winner and mother of two who had already spent six years as the monarch of a European nation. The retired starlet was called upon to save Monaco from an escalating situation regarding its standing as a tax haven, with French leader Charles de Gaulle giving her husband, Monaco’s Prince Rainier III, six months to reform its tax laws.
Kidman, recently nominated for a third Oscar for her perf in “Rabbit Hole,” previously won for her turn as another real-life figure, author Virginia Woolf in “The Hours.” Aussie thesp next stars in Lee Daniels’ “The Paperboy” and Chan-wook Park’s “Stoker.” She’s also attached to star opposite Colin Firth in “The Railway Man.”
Dahan previously directed Marion Cotillard to an Oscar win for in the Edith Piaf biopic “La Vie en rose,” while EuropaCorp co-founder Pogam exec produced the French hit “Tell No One” and most recently produced “Colombiana.”
Amel, who is writing Warner Bros.’ “I Am Legend” sequel, previously wrote the Aaron Eckhart starrer “The Expatriate,” which Radius-TWC will release later this year.
Kidman is repped by CAA, Media Talent Group and attorney Alan Wertheimer.

Nic attended the ACM Awards in Las Vegas last night, where her husband performed. Nic looked sleek in a black L’Wren Scott dress. See her look below, and check back soon for more photos and tidbits from the event:

Nicole Kidman has been cast as Colin Firth’s wife in ”The Railway Man,” replacing Rachel Weisz in the role.
Weisz was forced to drop out of the project because she’s required to do additional shooting on ”The Bourne Legacy” and ”Oz: The Great and Powerful.”
”The Railway Man,” directed by Jonathan Teplitzy, is in pre-production to start shooting in April. A U.K.-Australian co-production backed by Lionsgate Intl., it’s based on Eric Lomax’s autobiography about his horrific experiences as a Japanese prisoner in World War II, and his remarkable reconciliation with one of his captors 30 years later.
Lomax’s wife Patti, who will be played by Kidman, took a key role in helping him to face up the longstanding psychological damage caused by his wartime horrors, and in bringing him back together with one of the Japanese officers who had participated in his torture.
Jeremy Irvine (”War Horse”) plays the younger Lomax in the WWII scenes.
Producer Andy Paterson co-wrote the adaptation with Frank Cottrell Boyce.
”The Railway Man” will shoot in Scotland with Firth and Kidman, before moving to Australia’s Gold Coast for the WWII section.

As posted about before, I am intending to focus this site on Nic’s earlier work for a while, but I wanted to break that temporarily to bring you photos from tonight’s Golden Globe Awards! Nic walked the red carpet with her husband, and she looked gorgeous in a pale grey Versace dress with gold embroidery. A great look from Nic, don’t you think?
I’ve added the first few photos to our Gallery, and check back tomorrow/the next few days for more coverage from the event…
