Indie Wire reports on a very new interesting role for Nicole … what are your thoughts on this?!
Also, if anyone can get a copy of this magazine – Positif – and make scans of it for us, then please get in touch!
A two-part movie entitled “The Nymphomaniac” that’s aiming to hit the Cannes Film Festival in 2013…yep, that sounds about right for everyone’s favorite (well, almost everyone) cinematic enfant terrible, Lars Von Trier. And now his brewing picture, which is set to star Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgard and Willem Dafoe, may get a blast from Von Trier’s past.
According to AlloCine, in an interview with Nicole Kidman in the July/August issue of movie magazine Positif (print only), the actress reveals she would be working for a “few days” on “The Nymphomaniac.” If that’s the case, it would appear that her experience on the director’s excellent “Dogville” was a good one (though she didn’t return for the follow-up “Manderlay,” instead replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard, while the third movie in the proposed trilogy, “Washington,” never got made). That’s all the info for now, and no word on what her role might be in the new movie.
And indeed, details thus far about “The Nymphomaniac” are under the radar except for this tantalizing official synopsis: NYMPHOMANIAC is the light and poetic story of a woman’s erotic journey from birth to the age of 50 as told by the main character, the self-‐diagnosed nymphomaniac, Joe. On a cold winter’s evening Seligman, an old bachelor, finds Joe semi‐unconscious and beaten up in an alleyway. After bringing her to his flat he sees to her wounds while trying to understand how things could have gone so wrong for her. He listens intently as she over the next 8 chapters recounts the lushly branched-‐out and multi faceted story of her life, rich in associations and interjecting incidents.
Lensing is set to get underway this summer, and in case you forgot, the movie will arrive in both hardcore and softcore variations, with porn actor doubles being used for the raunchy stuff. So yeah, just when we think Lars Von Trier is moving right, he turns left, so we’re very curious to see how this one turns out.
Unfortunately we have had to remove the stills from The Railway Man that were released last week from our Gallery. We never intended to cause any trouble by posting them, we simply aim to promote Nicole’s work. As a result, coverage and promotion of this film on Nicole’s Magic may be limited from now on. Sorry for any inconvenience caused to anyone!
As expected, Nicole attended an Omega promotional event in London yesterday, which was the Launch Party for the Omega House. She looked gorgeous in a little navy Azzedine Alaia dress with Manolo Blahnik shoes, with her strawberry blonde hair (it’s getting lighter again) left loose but clipped away from her face – a winning look, don’t you think?
Further down this post are a few articles with details about the party, and you can read about the Omega House itself at this link here. Find photos from the event in our Gallery!
Nicole Kidman is constantly “inspired” by her husband.
The Hollywood beauty is married to country singer Keith Urban and the pair have daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret together.
Nicole has gushed about her partner, explaining that she has infinite love for him.
“He inspires me. We met later in life and when that happens you have a much better chance of really going to a deep place,” she told the UK edition of OK! magazine.
“When you’re younger – sometimes not, my parents met when they were 23 – but for us, we met later in life, and we know who we are and where we’re at. And we are very fortunate.”
The actress is happy to support singer Keith with his career too.
“Australia will always be my home country. But home can be a place where you’re happy with your loved ones. We’re based in Nashville because Keith’s career is country music,” she said. “That’s his passion, so you have to live in Nashville if you’re in country music. That’s where his work is and I’m perfectly happy there. I’m glad to be able to support him.”
For our 2nd old and rare goodies update today, I have screencaptures from Nicole’s 1985 movie Wills & Burke for you. These were sent to us by Times, who also sent us screencaps from The Bit Part a few weeks ago. As with The Bit Part, I’ve been trying for 10 years to track down a copy of Wills & Burke to make screencaptures, so a very grateful thanks goes to Times for helping us out so much. It goes without saying that Nic looks totally loveable in this film!
I have a couple of old rarities for you today, starting with a photoshoot. Our fantastic forum member Nicoleta recently alerted me to a new-old photoshoot which was taken in Sydney in the 1980′s. Nicole looks so cute in it, with her big curly hair and pretty smile. These photos are a must-see, so here you go …
As we posted about last night, Nic was at the Olympics Opening Ceremony last night. She shared several photos from the night on her personal Facebook page, adding comments including ‘At the Olympics with omega! Amazing!!’, and ‘Wow’. Click the link before, or the photo below to visit her Facebook page and see all her photos. Sounds like she really enjoyed it!
Hands up who enjoyed the London Olympics Opening Ceremony?! Nic and her husband did too, it seems! Keith tweeted earlier this evening that he and Nic were at the ceremony, and he has since posted a short hand-filmed clip of his surroundings for the evening, including a short shot of Nic doing a little dance ….
Nic and I are at the @London2012 @NBCOlympics opening ceremonies…. OVER THE TOP!!!! -KU
