Welcome to Nicole's Magic, a fansite for the spectacular spectacular Academy Award winning Australian actress Nicole Kidman. Nicole is one of the most sought-after actresses of her generation, and is known for her roles in Moulin Rouge, The Hours and To Die For, and has recently been seen in the controversial thrillers Stoker and The Paperboy.
Nicole's Magic is the largest and most comprehensive fansite for Nicole, and is dedicated to supporting her and her career. As of March 2013, Nicole's Magic is entering a new phase of its fansite life, now focussing on paying tribute to Nicole's career up to and including 2006. As part of a bi-monthly feature here at Nicole's Magic, each month we will be taking a look back at one of Nicole's films or acting projects. Nicole has an immense body of work behind her, and there's no better way to be reminded of her talent and how much we love her than immersing ourselves and taking an in depth look at those works.

The Canadian edition of Hello magazine had Nic on the cover of last week’s issue, with a new interview, and out-takes from Nic’s recent Aussie Harper’s Bazaar photoshoot. Check out the scans in our Gallery! (Some of them have a slight watermark on them, but hopefully not too noticeable).
Big thanks to Michele for the heads-up that Nicole was featured in the Fall 2012 issue of the New York Times’ T magazine, in their feature on being behind the scenes at Cannes. The magazine featured two new portrait images of Nicole and Zac Efron during their first day at Cannes, and Nicole looks beautiful! We pitched our tent on the eastern edge of the Plage du Midi, just south of the Quai Saint Pierre where moneyed skippers, their yachts moored offshore, disembark in loafers from inflatable runabouts. It should have been a two-minute drive from the Carlton Cannes Hotel, three minutes from the equally star-studded Martinez, were it not for the suffocating crush of the Cannes Film Festival’s crowds: the paparazzi, the tourists, the industry geeks with their dangling I.D. lanyards, the film students in rented tuxedos holding up signs begging for just one ticket “s’il vous plaît,” the gendarmes directing them all — and occasionally stopping traffic so that this or that star might pass through in a chauffeured ride to the immense red-carpeted stairs of the Palais des Festivals.
Who knows how Nicole Kidman made it through all that to arrive at our studio on the sand, but arrive she did, her “The Paperboy” co-star Zac Efron waiting to greet her. Michael Haneke spoke only German with our photographer, Peter Lindbergh, and his crew. Tahar Rahim arrived in Balenciaga, while Xavier Dolan explained that he’d designed his own tux. Harvey Weinstein, aside from posing with the cast of his film “The Sapphires” (he joked that the photo release referred to him as a “model”), moved mountains — possibly literally — to make sure we had Brad Pitt in a shot. Jeremy Irons rolled his own cigarettes. David Cronenberg posed for camera-phone pictures with his daughter Caitlin, a photographer there on assignment for T’s Web site. And Sam Riley and Garrett Hedlund, the studiedly disheveled stars of “On the Road,” displayed an insouciance that could not have been better suited to a suiting story shot on the French Riviera.
Nicole has also been seen on the cover of Australian WHO magazine recently, to celebrate the magazine’s 20th anniversary. Inside is a gorgeous new photoshoot and a new interview.

Nicole graces the cover of the current November issue of US Harper’s Bazaar magazine, in a bold, grungey and colourful new photoshoot! The magazine is on news-stands now, so be sure to pick up a copy if you see it.

Nicole Kidman’s Wild Ride In every incarnation – on-screen and off – Nicole Kidman has been nothing less than fearless.
“I attach, I attach so deeply that it’s quite scary for me,” Nicole Kidman is saying, perched on a couch in a Nashville café. She is talking about her family but also, very possibly, the secret to her success. During a 30-plus-year career she has attached, deeply, to her roles.”I’m drawn to the psychology of really interesting, flawed people.”
She’s sitting here in a vintage white lace dress, a denim jacket, and a floral scarf, back home in Nashville for a few weeks before heading off to Europe for three months to play Grace Kelly in the biopic Grace of Monaco. Now, there’s a perception of Nicole that she’s regal and somewhat removed, but it’s completely wrong. For someone who has been famous for so long, she’s strikingly uncynical, easily amused (especially by tales of fashion), exceptionally curious, and utterly Australian. Tell her she’s on the cover of Bazaar’s Daring Issue and her response is a shy giggle and a “good Lord!”
Last month, the New York Times published a new interview with Nicole to promote The Paperboy. It’s a pretty good interview, in which Nic talks about the Lee Daniels film, as well as some of her older work and directors. A Thing for Lamé and Condemned Men Nicole Kidman on Lee Daniels’s ‘Paperboy’ - September 6th 2012
NICOLE KIDMAN, movie star, Oscar winner and red-carpet regular, recently played a cow. Talk about your glamour roles.
The performance was for an enactment of “Jack and the Beanstalk,” which took place in her Nashville home as she was putting her 4-year-old daughter, Sunday, to bed. She also impersonated the fairy tale’s stem-climbing hero while her husband, the country singer Keith Urban, played the magic beans. “I’m like, ‘I can’t read this book again for the hundredth time,’ so I said, ‘We’re going to do it!’ ” Ms. Kidman, 45, said. (The couple also has a 19-month-old daughter, Faith, and Ms. Kidman has a daughter, Isabella, 19, and a son, Connor, 17, from her marriage to Tom Cruise.)
“Sunday sat on her bed and watched us. She was into it,” she said. Then she laughed. “Well, she didn’t tell us to stop.”
After nearly 30 years of making movies, no one is telling Ms. Kidman to stop taking on roles that challenge both her and what moviegoers think they know about her. Over a cappuccino at a Manhattan hotel last month she discussed her career and her latest unlikely role: as a Southern floozy in the intentionally pulpy drama “The Paperboy,” opening Oct. 5. Directed by the maker of “Precious,” Lee Daniels, the film earned both cheers and jeers for its audacity when it was shown at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Lars von Trier Veterans Willem Dafoe, Udo Kier Complete ‘Nymphomaniac’ Cast
Willem Dafoe is reteaming with Lars Von Trier for Nymphomaniac, marking the third film the Oscar-nominated actor has made with the controversial Danish director.
Dafoe co-stared with Charlotte Gainsbourg in von Trier’s Antichrist (2009) and was part of the acting ensemble in the director’s Manderlay (2005).
Dafoe, currently in Hamburg shooting Anton Corbijn’s John Le Carre drama A Most Wanted Man, will shift to Cologne to play a supporting role in Nymphomaniac, von Trier’s two-part erotic epic.
Another von Trier veteran, German actor Udo Kier, has also joined Nymphomaniac’s all-star cast. Kier has appeared in most of Lars von Trier’s films, including Medea (1988), Breaking the Waves (1996) and Melancholia (2011).
Also among the Nymphomaniac cast, but not previously announced, are French actor Jean-Marc Barr (Dogville, Breaking The Waves), Britain’s Caroline Goodall (Schindler’s List) and Kate Ashfield (Shaun of the Dead), Saskia Reeves (Butterfly Kiss) and Danish actor Omar Shargawi (R).
Gainsbourg stars in Nymphomaniac as Jo, the film’s lead, a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac who tells her story to an older bachelor, played by Stellan Skarsgard. Shia LaBeouf, Christian Slater, Jamie Bell, Uma Thurman and Connie Nielsen also feature in the ensemble drama, which is being shot as two feature length films.
Nymphomaniac, which will feature explicit sex scenes, will be released in both hard- and soft-core versions.
Nicole Kidman, who had long been rumored as a possible addition to the Nymphomaniac cast, will not be part of the movie. The Oscar-winner, who played the leading role in von Trier’s Dogville, is currently shooting Olivier Dahan’s Grace of Monaco, in which she plays Grace Kelly.
Nicole is attending the Emmy Awards tonight in Hollywood, where she is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie for Hemingway & Gellhorn. Nicole is wearing a stunning white with blue embroidery Antonio Berardi dress – a very ocean/mermaid inspired look! Speaking to E! on the red carpet, she said she is currently filming the Grace Kelly biopic in France, but she will be joining Keith and hanging out backstage during his new role as a judge on American Idol in the new year.

A preview of the first trailer for Nicole’s upcoming thriller/horror movie Stoker premiered on Entertainment Tonight earlier this week (Sept 19th or 20th)! It co-stars Mia Wasikowska and Matthew Goode, and looks pretty creepy if you ask me!
Apparently the full, official trailer will be premiered this coming week.
