Practical Magic tells the story of two sisters, Sally and Gillian, who have the gift of magic. But they have the family curse, in which any man that falls in love with one of them will die an untimely death. Brought up by their aunts, Sally and Gilly adopt different attitudes towards their magical abilities - Gilly embraces it, but Sally chooses to live her life as normally as possible. When Gilly gets into trouble with a man, Sally must save her sister, and try and battle the curse when she meets the man she wished for as a child...

Trivia
[1] Nicole and Sandra became good friends while filming, and went out drinking together on many occasions.
[2] Continuity error - After placing Jimmy's body on the table, Gillian unbuttons his shirt and cuts his undershirt. In the next shot of him, his undershirt is uncut and shirt is buttoned up.
[3] When asked why Sandra and Nicole were chosen to play sisters when they obviously looked nothing alike, Griffin Dunne said that when he researched historical witches, witch siblings often looked nothing alike.
