Whilst in London, Kat meets Arkie Regan, who she travels with to Goa, and Thailand on the way back to Australia. Whilst spending a luxurious week in Thailand,
Arkie hides a large amount of drugs in the camera case he gave to Kat. At the Thai airport, he conveniently disappears, as Kat is caught with drugs in her case
by Customs. Kat is sentenced to spend time in the Bangkok Hilton prison, where the conditions are unbearable. She makes friends with felloe inmate, Mandy, who is serving
time for a similar crime. Unknown to Kat, her lawyer, Richard Carlisle, is working with her father, Hal, to get her released. As the courts fail to reduce her charge, and
the death sentence looms, Kat is forced to follow to take a major risk that could be the only way to stay alive...
