Welcome to Nicole's Magic, a fansite for the spectacular spectacular Academy Award winning Australian actress Nicole Kidman. Nicole is one of the most sought-after actresses of her generation, and is known for her roles in Moulin Rouge, The Hours and To Die For, and has recently been seen in the controversial thrillers Stoker and The Paperboy.
Nicole's Magic is the largest and most comprehensive fansite for Nicole, and is dedicated to supporting her and her career. As of March 2013, Nicole's Magic is entering a new phase of its fansite life, now focussing on paying tribute to Nicole's career up to and including 2006. Read more about what this entails here, and how you can keep up to date with her current career here. Nicole is our favourite actress, and we feel that this way we can provide a highly extensive and worthy tribute to this incredible woman. Comments, suggestions, sparkling diamonds, elephant love medleys and contributions are always more than welcomed so please contact me if you have anything to say. Enjoy your visit, add us to your Favourites and come back again soon!
NB: As part of our site overhaul, all of our content is moving over to a new system. While these changes take place many of the pages within this site will not work/give errors - please be patient as I work to fix them as quickly as I can!
Movie Of The Month
As part of a bi-monthly feature here at Nicole's Magic, each month we will be taking a look back at one of Nicole's films or acting projects. Nicole has an immense body of work behind her, and there's no better way to be reminded of her talent and how much we love her than immersing ourselves and taking an in depth look at those works.
"Mrs Dalloway said she would buy the flowers herself..."
While this main site is now only focussing on Nicole's career up to 2006, you can still keep up-to-date with her current activities on our forum. Visit Nicole's Bulletin for the latest news and photos, and be sure to register to be able to post your own messages, and get access to even more Nicole chat and interaction.
As expected, Nic graced the red carpet at the Academy Awards on Sunday night, in a gorgeous sequinned gold and black gown by her good friend L’Wren Scott. Nicole accessorised with Fred Leighton jewellry, and had her husband by her side. Nic served as a presenter during the ceremony, but I can’t tell you for what as I haven’t had the chance to watch the show yet! Over 100 gorgeous HQ photos from Hollywood’s big night have been added to the Gallery for your viewing pleasure – enjoy!
As posted about before, Nicole’s Magic is slowly undergoing some changes to get to the point where the site will focus solely on Nicole’s earlier career. Read more about that here if you need to remind yourself. I intend to put this into action at the start of March but do want to get things more ‘caught up’ beforehand.
However, obviously many of you will still want to keep yourself updated on the very latest in the world of Nicole Kidman! While my motivation for this is zero – cue the site plans – we have some fabulously fabulous forum members who are good at this. I’ve made some changes to the forum and we now have a special new section entitled The Nicole Bulletin, in which all new things about Nicole will be posted – movie news, new photos, interviews, magazine alerts etc. – it’s all in there and easy to find. It is an open section of the forum, so you can all view it and see the latest – you don’t need to register. You can register to see the rest of the forum, though, where you can not only make posts yourself, but will also find more photos, film information, videos and discussion, plus have fun chit-chatting with other Nicole-a-holics. It would be great to get the forum a bit more alive again, so if you like what you see in The Nicole Bulletin, consider registering for more Nic fun.
I hope this makes sense and satisfies those of you who need your daily, regular and latest Nicole fix! Don’t hesitate to comment, email or tweet with any questions or comments about this
Nic accompanied her husband to the Grammy Awards last Sunday, looking shimmery in a metallic gold dress by Vera Wang, with Fred Leighton jewellry. I think she looks really pretty, and I love the photos of her laughing on the red carpet! There was even a mini Stepford Wives reunion, as Nicole and Faith Hill posed together on the red carpet, something which they have done at a few music awards over the recent years. Over 100 HQ photos have been added to the Gallery, and further down this post are a few videos from the red carpet and show:
Four former Best Actress winners will converge on stage at this year’s Oscar telecast, the show’s producers said Wednesday.
Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon will present an award, although the show’s producers were mum about whether or not they will take the stage together. If they do, it may mean a return to a format that was deployed and favorably received during the 2009 broadcast.
During that show, former winners of acting awards appeared on stage together to give short speeches praising each of the nominees. That was revived in a slightly modified form in the 2010 telecast, in which co-stars or celebrity friends of the various nominees were called on to pay tribute before the winner was announced.
Traditionally, the previous winner of an acting award reads out the nominees and hands out the statue without assistance.
Berry won the Oscar for her performance as a grieving widow in “Monster’s Ball” (2001), Bullock for her work as a feisty housewife and football fan in “The Blind Side” (2009), Kidman for playing a depressive Virginia Woolf in “The Hours” (2002) and Witherspoon for channeling June Carter Cash in “Walk the Line” (2005).
Other previously announced Oscar presenters including Mark Wahlberg, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe and “Marvel’s The Avengers” cast members Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo.
The Oscars will be hosted by Seth MacFarlane and will air on Feb. 24.
I’m going to try to fit in a couple more December/January Movie Of The Month updates before I launch the February/March one! I’ve had less time than expected these past few months but I want to pack more in for Cold Mountain! Therefore, today I have gone through my Golden Globes 2004 folder to update our Gallery for that event. Nic attended the Globes in 2004 as a nominee for Cold Mountain, one of the film’s 9 total nominations. Renee was the only category it scored gold in, however. During the ceremony Nicole did get the honour of presenting the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Drama – this was an interesting category announcement, with Nicole having personal connections to 4 out of 5 of the nominees – Sean Penn (she was about to start The Interpreter with him), Jude Law (Cold Mountain co-star), Tom Cruise (you know), and Russell Crowe (friend). Relive the funny below:
Nicole took the red carpet by storm in a stunning gold sequinned flapper dress and matching 1920′s-style hairstyle. This probably remains one of Nicole’s most talked about fashion choices from over the years, with people seeming to either love it or hate it. It was definitely a different choice for Nicole and quite a risky one. For me, it is without a doubt one of my Top 10 favourite looks of hers ever – she pulls it off perfectly and everything about the look is utterly fabulous … especially the hair … and the dress!
I’ve re-sorted through the photos from this event, deleted what we had in the Gallery, and re-uploaded 190 HQ photos from it, plus some from the after party as well. There are some beautiful shots from the red carpet, and some classic funny Nicole faces on both the red carpet and show pictures. Enjoy, enjoy
Hello again fans, I come bearing another fantastic update for you that I teased you about on Twitter a little while ago. Whilst searching for more photos from Nic’s recent award ceremony appearances, I came across a huge batch of HQ photos from the Stoker press conference! So now in addition to the pictures from this posted earlier today, we now have a whopping 71 more HQs from the press conference, plus the small ones posted earlier have been replaced with HQ versions – bringing us to a total of 100 HQs from this press conference! Nicole looks fabulous here – really warm and thoughtful – and these might be some of new favourite recent pictures of her.
Just a polite request – if you are going to post some of these of Tumblr or Facebook etc., please give us a credit in return?! Thanks.
Hello Nicole fans! I have a big update for you today, with over 200 additional HQ photos from the award ceremonies Nicole has attended so far this year! We have more photos from the Golden Globes, the Producers Guild Awards, and the Screen Actors Guild Awards, plus photos from the recent AACTA Awards that Nicole walked the red carpet of. There are some great photos in this batch for you to enjoy … I am biased and particularly adore the shots with Naomi at the PGA and the ones with Russell (and Isla Fisher in the corner!!) at the SAG Awards
A really big thank you goes to MaryJane, DeA and Marica for contributing most of these photos <33 DeA and MaryJane in particular have been my photo saviours this awards season, so please do visit their sites to say thanks for these fabulous gallery additions.
But the fun doesn't end here! Keep checking back for more...
We owe another very big thank you to MaryJane, who surprised me by sending us some fabulous HD screencaptures from the Screen Actors Guild Awards show! Nicole presented the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role, as well as being nominated for two awards herself, and was seen several times throughout the show in the audience sitting by her lovely BFF Naomi Watts. I just love seeing the reaction of Nicole – and Naomi! – to the clip shown of Nic in The Paperboy!
