The first still from The Railway Man has made it’s way online, and it’s a romantic shot of Nic (as Patti Lomax) and Colin Firth (as Eric Lomax). Have a look in the Gallery:

EDITED ON JULY 31ST: Unfortunately we have been asked by a producer on the film to remove these images. We did not aim to cause any trouble posting them, we simply intended to promote the film.

More details on Nicole’s Omega promotional duties during the Olympics
Filed Under: Uncategorized • Posted on July 22nd, 2012 by Jess • No Comments »

A couple of weeks ago we posted about Nicole being expected in attendance during the Olympics, in her role as a spokesperson for Omega, and we now have more details on one of her upcoming appearances:

In Soho, London’s buzzing restaurant and nightlife district, luxury watchmaker Omega, the Olympics’ official time-keeper, will be hosting its own A-list soirees in a specially-refurbished townhouse until the end of the games on Aug 12. Kidman is expected at a launch party on July 28, while a space-themed bash on Aug. 2 will feature American astronauts Buzz Aldrin, Gene Cernan and Tom Stafford. A publicist said other guests will include swimmer Michael Phelps and Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan.

*Exclusive* “Batman Forever” promotional photoshoot scans
Filed Under: Uncategorized • Posted on July 20th, 2012 by Jess • 2 Comments »

The new Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, hits cinemas today, and it has inspired me to make an update relating to Nicole’s Batman film, Batman Forever! Nicole starred in the 1995 movie as Chase Meridian, a criminal psychologist who allies herself with Batman, who in this movie was played by Val Kilmer. Nicole described her character as someone who has “the perfect blonde hair and the red lips and wears these sort of tight black dresses … [and] … dresses like Jessica Rabbit.” She added that “It is one of those movies where you just go ‘let’s have fun’”, and admits that she found some of the scenes un-believable whilst filming. The movie made $336m at the box office worldwide, including over $184m in the US.

I was reminded of something that our fantastic visitor Hamish sent me ages ago, that I have accidently kept forgetting to add, and thought this would be a good time. Hamish kindly sent us scans of the extremely rare full set of Batman Forever promotional photoshoot pictures. Nicole is seen posing seductively with Batman himself, and against the Riddler’s question mark prop. Some of these photos are scans of the original transparencies of the shoot, and others are in perfect high quality, but all photos are certainly worth a look. A really huge thank you goes to Hamish for sending us these – they are super duper rare, and such a fantastic addition to our site!!

As I said, these are rare and exclusive, so please be nice and don’t re-post them elsewhere – thank you!

More Emmy nomination reaction from Nicole
Filed Under: Uncategorized • Posted on July 20th, 2012 by Jess • No Comments »

Nicole yesterday told the LA Times that was going to celebrate her Emmy nomination with a popsicle, and she now clarifies exactly which kind she likes to the Sydney Morning Herald ;-)

“Popsicles after school,” Kidman said of how she plans to celebrate. “I’ll toast the Emmy nomination with a chocolate Popsicle. I know it doesn’t sound great, but they’re amazing.”

- Sydney Morning Herald

Another official reaction press release from her said:

“Thank you Academy. I am so happy to share this nomination with Clive [Owen]. It is a true acknowledgment of Martha Gelhorn’s life and amazing work. Discovering and playing her, under the guidance and passion of the great Phil Kaufman, was a joy and a privilege.”

- Nicole Kidman

And Clive Owen also reacted to his nomination:

“I am really thrilled to be nominated for ‘Hemingway and Gellhorn.’ I had such a great time working with the brilliant Phil Kaufman and the wonderful Nicole Kidman.”

- Clive Owen

Nicole reacts to Emmy nomination

Nicole and her team posted about today’s Emmy nomination news on her Facebook page, and Nicole says the following about the honour:

Such an honor to be included in these group of nominees. Am so excited to go to my first Emmy awards. Nic xx

Nicole Kidman on Facebook

The LA Times also have an article about the news, as well as another quote from Nic. I am intrigued by the mention of a ‘risque photoshoot’, and can’t help but wonder if it is for V magazine … or is it too late to be for that, seeing as how she’s meant to be on the September cover (which would come out early August). Hopefully all will be revealed soon!

Back to Emmy news, and I’ve updated our original post about the nominations below with a screencap of the announcement, and a link to watch a replay of it.

Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen were together for the lengthy three-and-a-half month San Francisco shoot for the HBO movie “Hemingway & Gellhorn,” but on Emmy nomination morning they were worlds apart. Owen was vacationing in the English countryside with his family while Kidman was sweltering at home in the punishing heat of Nashville.

Kidman, who was nominated for lead actress in a miniseries or movie for playing journalist and wife of Ernest Hemingway, Martha Gellhorn, wasn’t expecting the call to tell her about the nomination. In fact, she thought the phone ringing was her publicist calling to tell her that the risque photo shoot she’d done the day before was a mistake.

How risque was the shoot?

“Oh, you know, what’s risque for me is probably not risque for the world,” she said.

Park Chan Wook’s English-Language Debut “Stoker” Hits US Theaters On March 1st 2013
Filed Under: Uncategorized • Posted on July 18th, 2012 by Jess • No Comments »

IndieWire.com: While initially a picture many hoped would land at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, Park Chan Wook’s eagerly anticipated English language debut “Stoker” has been one that has been both heavily under wraps and long awaited, but now we’re less than a year away from release and we’re rolling the dice on a fall festival appearance.

Fox Searchlight has announced that “Stoker” has been given a March 1, 2013 release date and we’re willing to bet that the likelihood of fall premiere at Venice — where he won an award for “Sympathy For Lady Vengeance” in 2005 and served on the jury in 2006 — is looking stronger and stronger. So why are we so excited for this one? First there’s the cast: Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasikowska, Alden Ehrenreich, Jacki Weaver, Matthew Goode, Dermot Mulroney, Lucas Till and more. Then, there’s the Hitchockian premise. Penned by Wentworth Miller — under the name Ted Foulke — the Black List script is described as a fantastical, fairy tale-like family drama that follows the story of an eccentric teen, India (Wasikowska), whose enigmatic and estranged uncle (Goode) returns to the family after the death of the girl’s father. People, however, start to go missing in her hometown at the same time and she soon discovers that her uncle may be the cause. Toss in a score by Clint Mansell, and we’re in, hook, line and sinker.

For anyone who thought this might be an awards player, this release date rules that out, but given the logline, it seems more like a straight genre piece anyway. Now, how about a trailer? Okay, if not that, then some official stills already?

Exclusive scans from Aussie Harper’s Bazaar
Filed Under: Uncategorized • Posted on July 16th, 2012 by Jess • 2 Comments »

I have now been able to add some fantastic, exclusive scans from Nicole’s recent stunning cover and editorial in Australian Harper’s Bazaar magazine, courtesey of my friend April! The whole spread is just gorgeous, and it obviously feels very personal and special given that Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret are featured within it. My favourite shots are the two of Nicole in the floor length black gown on the woody track – so beautiful!

I apologise for the intrusive tags on the scans, but I get tired of seeing our gallery content reposted on other forums/sites without a thank you to us. My friend took the time to buy and scan this magazine for me, so I hope our visitors will respect that and not repost these scans. Thank you!

“The Bit Part” screencaptures
Filed Under: Uncategorized • Posted on July 15th, 2012 by Jess • No Comments »

I had a fantastic surprise in my inbox a couple of weeks ago, when I discovered several emails from Times containing some super rare old goodies! I’ve have added the first batch of them today – some screencaptures from Nicole’s 1987 movie The Bit Part, in which she played Mary McAllister. This movie is very rare – in 10 years of running the site and desperately trying to find a copy of it, I had had no luck until Times’ email. So a really big thanks – the first of a few – to Times for helping out with these. Many of you know how much I love old Nicole stuff, as well as how much I love receiving help from fellow fans!

I’ve since discovered clips from The Bit Part on YouTube, and will have a closer look through them to see if it’s the whole thing. If so, I will post the videos (and more screencaps if necessary) here for you too.

Nicole Kidman to Be in London for Olympics
Filed Under: Uncategorized • Posted on July 7th, 2012 by Jess • No Comments »

It’s going to be hard for Nicole Kidman to lay low this summer. Us Weekly has learned that the Oscar-winning actress, 45, will be in London for most of the 2012 Summer Olympics, which kick off in the UK later this month.

Kidman is the spokeswoman for OMEGA Watches, the official timekeeper of the Olympics, and thus will be on hand in London for various promotional appearances. Husband Keith Urban — and presumably their daughters Sunday, 3, and Faith, 19 months — will be at her side.

"I’d like to be wise. You have to go through a lot to get there, but I’m willing to go through a lot." - Nicole Kidman
