As part of a bi-monthly feature here at Nicole's Magic, each month we will be taking a look back at one of Nicole's films or acting projects. Nicole has an immense body of work behind her, and there's no better way to be reminded of her talent and how much we love her than immersing ourselves and taking an in depth look at those works.

Walter Salles’ On the Road, Lee Daniels’ The Paperboy and Michael Haneke’s Amour will join Rust and Bone by Jacques Audiard and David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis for a trip to the 65th annual Cannes Film Festival.
Also screening in the competition are Holy Motors by Leos Carax, The Angels’ Share by Ken Loach, John Hillcoat’s Lawless, which stars Shia LaBoeuf, Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce and Gary Oldman alongside Jessica Chastain in a Prohibition-era drama, and more U.S. titles such as Jeff Nichols’ Mud and Andrew Dominik’s Killing Them Softly with Brad Pitt and Ray Liotta. All in all, U.S. filmmakers will have a strong presence on the Croisette this year.
President Gilles Jacob and artistic director Thierry Fremaux announced the official selection for the May 16-27 festival at a press conference in Paris late Thursday morning.
While the 2011 competition lineup was light on U.S. directors and star power, the Cannes team certainly made up for it this year. “American cinema has come back relatively en force,” Fremaux said.
Pitt, Robert Pattinson, Nicole Kidman and Marion Cotillard and Matthew McConaughey — who both have multiple projects in Cannes — will add glam to the fest as they make their way down the world’s most famous cinema catwalk.

Just a small update now – I’ve been doing some spring cleaning on the main page, and have updated our Favourite Affiliates on the sidebar, the Current Projects & Latest Photos above, and also added a Recently Updated Pages section on the sidebar. This Recently Updated Pages is obviously self-explanatory, as it will list the pages (and posts) which have been added/edited recently. As I’ve said before, I’m working on re-doing all our content, so this list may give you a sneak peek at some of that before it is officially launched It’s also a way to highlight some of our content pages which you might otherwise have missed. Big thanks to my friend Lindsey for her help with setting this up.

I have now started on adding the missing 2012 event photos, and have added 3/4 all of this years events. These include Nic promoting Hemingway & Gelhorn during HBO’s Television Critics Association Winter Panel, a Tod’s party during Paris Fashion Week, and accepting an award for her women’s rights work at the Kuwait-America Foundation Gala. Read more about Nic receiving that award further down this post. I will also search out info about the HBO TCA panel asap, and post that as part of a Hemingway catch-up update in the near future.
Enjoy the lovely new HQ photos, and check back in the next few days for the final 2012 event pics! (Then I’ll finish the 2011 events).
EDIT: I’ve now added photos from the remaining 2012 event – Tropfest! Nic was photographed alongside a plethora of other A-list Aussie stars at the event, including Geoffrey Rush, Toni Collette, Cate Blanchett and her good friend Baz Luhrman. They all served as judges at the short film festival. These are some of my favourite recent photos of Nic, and it’s great to see her back in Australia supporting the film industry. Check out some gorgeous HQ photos from the event in the Gallery, and watch a couple of videos from the red carpet further down this post.

I have another massive update for you today! My good friend Luciana has sent me a whopping 100+ all-new, unseen HQ photos from Trespass! They are mostly stills from the movie, but there are a few new set pictures too, where we see Nic talking to the director and them setting scenes up. It’s a real treat to get so many HQ stills from a movie! I know many of you love Nicole’s look in this movie, so I am sure you will love all these stills.
Please be nice and don’t re-post these on other sites/forums/facebooks. If you are going to post a few on Tumblr then please be sure to credit.
I plan to get in as many more updates as possible in the next few days, like I said, but if updates do suddenly stop, it’s because I’m having computer problems. Please bare with me, as if my computer does decide to misbehave, I will be working to get it fixed asap!
But now, enjoy these fabulous new HQ stills!
• Trespass > Stills x99, 5 replaced with HQ
• Trespass > On The Set – Misc./Unknown x6 more, 2 replaced with HQ

I know many of you have been wanting me to post new photos of Nic again, so to continue our birthday weekend updates I have done just that! Since our last update, I have been working on adding photos from the award ceremonies Nic has attended this year – 3 in total … and 400+ HQ photos from them!
As posted about at the time, Nic attended the Golden Globe Awards in January, where she and Hemingway & Gelhorn co-star Clive Owen presented the award for Best Original Screenplay, which went to an absent Woody Allen for Midnight In Paris. Later that month Nic popped up at the Australian Academy Of Cinema And Television Arts’ 1st Annual Awards in Hollywood, where she presented her friends Meryl Streep and Russell Crowe with awards. And then earlier this month she and her husband did their annual walk down the ACM Awards red carpet in Las Vegas. She looked beautiful at all 3 events, but I absolutely adore her look at the AACTA’s – that Collette Dinnigan lace dress is to die for! Definitely one of my favourite recent looks of hers. Incidently, her Globes dress was Versace, and her black ACM dress was L’Wren Scott.
As I said, I’ve now uploaded over 400 fabulous HQ photos from these events. There are some particularly gorgeous close-up shots from the AACTA’s that I know you won’t want to miss!
Unfortunately I haven’t had as much time to work on the site today as I’d hoped, because of Easter, so I haven’t got in as many updates as planned … but I’ll pack several more into the next few days, if all goes to plan
• The Golden Globe Awards – High Quality x110
• The Golden Globe Awards – HBO Dinner – High Quality x6
• Australian Academy Of Cinema And Television Arts’ 1st Annual Awards – High Quality x204
• ACM Awards x7
• ACM Awards – High Quality x91

Nicole’s Magic officially celebrates 10 years online today! The site opened it’s doors to you on April 7th 2002, sporting a red Moulin Rouge themed layout (10 years later – nothing’s changed!) and has since grown into the large fanbase for Nicole that it is now.
It seems strange to say it’s been online for 10 years – it’s gone so quickly!! We’ve watched Nicole recover from her divorce, win an Oscar, get married again, have a baby…
“If you enter the dark side of life, and come through it, you emerge with more strength and passion.”
Nicole’s Magic started out because of my fascination with this woman who was thrown into the spotlight in 2001. After watching Moulin Rouge on the big screen, seeing photos of Nic and reading about her, she stuck with me, and there was just something about her that appealed to me. At the time, I was a big fan of my friend April’s Reese Withespoon fansite (which, incidently, I now run myself) – it seemed so fun to run a website like that – so I decided I’d try and put together a website myself, as a means of learning more about this Nicole Kidman. The rest, as they say, is history. The site had a great reaction from fans and I loved finding and creating new things to post on the website to share with other fans.
As my interest in Nic grew, and I was building this site up, I watched more and more of her movies, and that made me fall madly in love with all her work. She has such a variety of films in her filmography, and such incredible screen presence, it was exciting to slowly well, quickly, actually, work my way through it all. Watching that variety of work opened me up to new genres, actors and directors, and definitely developed my love of film. And then of course there is Nicole’s personality and her amazing strength of character, which is inspiring, to put it simply. I’m glad I took the chance to open this site, it’s been great for so many reasons.
Running this site has been such a great way to get to learn more about Nic, follow her career, promote her work, and share my love for her with you, her fellow fans!
An anniversary would not be complete without a few thank-you’s, and there’s lots of people who deserve credit for their help with Nicole’s Magic. April, for inspiring me to start this site, and Jen for giving us our first proper hosting. Some fabulously supportive visitors from over the years: Marya, Mags, Lex, ‘skanky’, Mariana, Melanie, Lea, Carla, Peter, peteto, abby, tulipa, Larisa, Bec, Ricky, Nessa, Hamish, Nicoleta, Josie. Our loyal forum members. Kelly – you’ve contributed so much to this site, this is a big and very appreciative thank you to you. Gertie at Fan-Sites.org, as we’d be long gone without her hosting services. Lindsey, Frederik and Fran at the former Pfeiffer The Face my fansite inspirations. Celyn, Maria and Luciana.
I’m so proud to run a fansite for such an incredible and iconic actress, and I hope you enjoy it and share the love put into it. Thank you for your support and visits over the last 10 years. I think it’s time for some absinthe to celebrate!

As promised, I am packing more birthday updates in! I have now updated the Gallery with some additional photoshoot images, including more from the Brazilian Shopping Mall advert photoshoot, and some fantastic out-takes from Nic’s recent Marie Claire photoshoot. I’ve also replaced the photos from a 2008 shoot with HQ versions plus added more from that shoot.
And saving the best for last – we have 34 super gorgeous HQ photos from a portrait shoot Nic did earlier this year whilst promoting Hemingway & Gelhorn during HBO’s Winter Press Tour (more on that soon). She looks gorgeous, and we are very lucky to get these in HQ! Please consider that, and don’t re-post these elsewhere
Enjoy ^_^
