The media are again talking about why Nicole is not in any of the marketing campaigns for Just Go With It, so her publicist has spelt it out again for them:
“The role of Devlin was designed by the filmmakers and the studio to be a surprise,” Leslee Dart explained via e-mail regarding Kidman’s work in the rom-com. “They felt it would be a great ‘reveal’ to refer to a character 50+ times in the first half of the movie and then when you finally see her, to see that she is played by a major movie star. Therefore, it is an UNBILLED cameo. Nicole is not in the above the title credits, not in the billing block, not in the trailer, not in the TV spots. That’s also why the credits are at the end of the film, not in the beginning.”
Dart added: “Last night’s huge premiere in [New York] was the first time that she has done anything in conjunction with the film. And this is all part of the plan, which (obviously) Nicole agreed with and supports.”
