Nic and Keith spoke to reporters about their new baby Faith Margaret at the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night! Here are the quotes:

KEITH Urban says his new baby daughter Faith Margaret looks just like her mum Nicole Kidman.

Urban and Kidman showed off a photo of Faith Margaret to reporters and revealed details behind her name while on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles.

“She just looks like her don’t you think?” a proud Urban, showing a photo of Faith and Kidman on his iPhone, told reporters.

Faith Margaret – named because the couple “had to have that (faith) through the whole pregnancy” and after Kidman’s grandmother Margaret – was born five weeks ago via surrogate at a Nashville hospital.

Urban and Kidman are the biological parents.

“… people just call her Faith, but she’s actually Faith Margaret, that southern double name,” Kidman said.

“Margaret is my grandmother’s name. She had her last baby at 49 so she’s my inspiration.”

The glamour couple said keeping Faith Margaret a secret was the best thing to do.

“Family is a sacred thing,” Urban said.

“I think everybody understands that.”

Kidman said that while she had been keen to “tell everybody because I was so excited about her”, the couple also decided “this was our thing together”.

“It kind of perpetuated itself then at the end we went ‘okay we’ll make an announcement’,” Kidman told E! News.

“If we can get all the way through, why not?

“It protects her, it protects everyone in the situation.”

Kidman said their two-year-old daughter Sunday Rose is “good” about the arrival of a sister, but it was a little bit of a shock.

“I think anybody who has had two kids knows when the second comes along the first goes ‘Oh. There’s competition’,” Urban added.

“But, she’s really great with her and has known about her for all of this time.”

Nicole Kidman says daughter Sunday Rose is excited to be a big sister

NICOLE Kidman’s two-year-old daughter is excited to be a big sister.

The Rabbit Hole actress and her husband Keith Urban recently announced the birth of their second child Faith Margaret, who was born on December 28 last year through a gestational carrier, and though the couple are much busier looking after two kids, they are delighted at how their elder girl has bonded with the baby.

“She’s so into Faith and she’s crazy about her,” Nicole said. “We really wanted Sunday to have a sibling, you know, so, so now we’ve got Sunday and Faith Margaret…we’ve got our hands full! We’re really happy.”

Nicole and Keith, 43, surprised the world when they revealed the birth of Faith Margaret on January 17 and the 43-year-old actress — who also has adopted kids Isabella, 18, and 15-year-old Connor with ex-husband Tom Cruise — revealed they kept the news secret to “protect” the newborn.

“We just decided this was our thing together,” she said. “It kind of just perpetuated itself. And it protects her and it protects everyone in the situation.”

The couple also revealed the inspiration behind the baby’s name, admitting they needed a lot of “faith” that everything would go well in the pregnancy.

“Just the way she came into our world — we needed to have every bit of faith we could muster,” Keith said.

“It was completely out of our control. We just kept saying, ‘We gotta have faith, we gotta have faith. She’s going to be fine.’

“And we just thought, ‘What a perfect name for her.’”

“Margaret is the name of my dad’s mother, my grandmother. She had her last baby when she was 49, so, she’s my inspiration,” Nicole added.

Nicole Kidman speaks out about surrogacy secret at SAG Awards

Proud new mum Nicole Kidman opened up about her newest addition to the family on the red carpet at the glittering Screen Actors Guild Awards last night, revealing she was ‘so excited,’ she struggled to keep baby Faith Margaret a secret.

The A-lister and musician hubby Keith Urban welcomed the bouncing baby girl via surrogate in December, but kept everyone in the dark about their happy news until the Golden Globe Awards earlier this month.

Now Nicole has revealed she was ‘so excited’ she wanted desperately to share her baby joy, but decided to keep little Faith under wraps until she was fully settled in at home.

‘I wanted to be able to tell everybody because I was so excited about her,’ Nicole told E! presenter Giuliana Rancic.

‘[But] we just decided this was our thing together. It kind of just perpetuated itself.

‘[And] it protects her and it protects everyone in the situation.’

Nicole also revealed all on how she and hubby Keith chose baby Faith’s name – in memory of her grandmother.

‘It’s that southern double name,’ she said, adding that Margaret was the name of her grandmother, who had her last child at the age of 49.

‘She’s my inspiration.’
