The BAFTAs have today announced their ‘longlist’ of nominations. for their 2011 awards. This longlist is the result of the first round of voting – the 15 nominees in each category were the ones with the most votes. The final nominations will be the usual 5 in each category.

ScreenDaily.com explain the process:
BAFTA’s 6,300 members have voted in their first round, selected from 207 entered films and now will vote from 15 longlisted films for the actual nominees (to be announced Jan 18). Members then vote a final time to determine the winners (some categories are voted for by only the specialist chapter in their category), which will be announced on Feb 13.
