As part of a bi-monthly feature here at Nicole's Magic, each month we will be taking a look back at one of Nicole's films or acting projects. Nicole has an immense body of work behind her, and there's no better way to be reminded of her talent and how much we love her than immersing ourselves and taking an in depth look at those works.

As posted about earlier today, Nine was released on DVD here in the UK yesterday! I have to say, I’ve been waiting for this day since I last saw the movie at the cinema, and I’m so glad it’s finally available to buy! Obviously I have gone and bought it, hehe, so it’s screencap time for you! I’ve started with the Extras, of which there are quite a few although not much coverage of Nic within them. There are a few interviews and some nice behind the scenes footage. Screencaps from all the DVD extras have been added to the Gallery. Film screencaps will be up in the next few days.
I know this film wasn’t too well received when it was released last year, but I’d definitely recommend it. It’s an entertaining, beautiful to look at film, with great performances – and an incredible cast!! Nicole has a very limited part, but she brings her usual class to it. Forget about the expectations around the film and just enjoy it for what it is. Feel free to leave your thoughts on the film here … and don’t forget to go and buy the DVD :p

Gwyneth Paltrow, who was lined up to star opposite Nicole in The Danish Girl, is on the cover of the latest issue of US magazine Harper’s Bazaar. In the magazine she confirms that she has dropped out of the movie, due to a location change:
Gwyneth recently parted ways with “The Danish Girl,” a film project she was previously attached to that will star Nicole Kidman, due to a location change, and the blonde told Harper’s that Chris said something about that decision that made her appreciate him more.
“When I pulled out [of 'The Danish Gir'l], he said, ‘I think you’ll be happy with your decision.’ I really lucked out with him. He’s deeply lovely and special,” she said.
“Some days I feel like everyone in my world has plugged themselves into my kidneys. I’m so tired,” she says with a sigh. She even pulled out of a movie with Nicole Kidman, The Danish Girl. With the shoot changing locales, Gwyneth found it too taxing for her little ones.

Recent reports have stated that Monte Carlo has changed direction and is now focussing on a younger generation. There have been a couple of new articles on the movie since then, so here they are to update you:
Disney star Selena Gomez says Nicole Kidman is the `coolest person ever`
Disney actress Selena Gomez thinks her Monte Carlo co-star Nicole Kidman is the ‘coolest person ever’.
The 17-year-old will be appearing in the upcoming comedy with the Oscar-winner.
Kidman, 42, reportedly found out how nervous Gomez was about meeting her, so she organised a pre-filming meeting.
Talking at the Nickelodeon 23rd Annual Kid’s Choice Awards, Selena told In Touch: ‘Nicole is the coolest person ever, and very sweet. So I was very happy!’

Firstly, thank you so much to all of you that commented on the new layout in the post below. I’m so happy knowing you like the new layout and Movie Of The Month feature, and it really makes me even more motivated to keep working on this site for you! There will be more new and unique pages added to the Nicole section of the site soon too.
A few days ago I added some wonderful Italian magazine scans to the Gallery, thanks to Martina. They come from various issues of Ciak and A, and include a couple of great features on Moulin Rouge. Hopefully our Italian speaking visitors will enjoy the articles And thanks again to Martina for being so generous!
Also on the topic of scans, if you have scans of Nicole in magazines that you’d like to contribute to Nicole’s Magic, then please don’t hesitate to contact me as I’d love to post them here! Doesn’t matter what language the magazine is in, I’m sure there will be some visitors who can understand it, and everyone can enjoy the photos anyway.

We have a new layout! It was designed for us by Frederik, and I have to say I absolutely love it. I think the photo characterises Nicole well, and the whole design is perfect for the new career-orientated approach I want the site to take now. There are still a few kinks with the layout that need to be fixed, so when everything is perfect (tomorrow hopefully!) I’ll let you know. Make sure you leave a comment with what you think about this new design.
And as promised, our new feature is online – a Movie Of The Month! I wanted to do something to make the site stand-out a bit more, with something unique, but mainly I wanted to place the focus back on Nicole’s career, as I said yesterday. Nicole has such an incredible body of work behind her, and I think that sometimes gets forgotten these days, so this Movie Of The Month is basically meant to be a ‘movie feast’ for us fans who, quite simply, love her films. So dive into our first featured movie – Practical Magic (classic Nicole! Who doesn’t love this movie?!) – leave your feedback and thoughts on this page, and stay tuned for another fabulous movie next month.
