Actress Nicole Kidman and Grammy Award-winning artist Carrie Underwood are among the celebrities scheduled to appear on “CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute,” airing Thanksgiving night on CNN.
Underwood and three-time Grammy Award nominee Leona Lewis will each perform at the gala, which returns to the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood as the network celebrates its third year of honoring everyday people making a difference.
Kidman is scheduled to join celebrities Kate Hudson, Neil Patrick Harris, Pierce Brosnan, Dwayne Johnson, Eva Mendes and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as presenters. Additional celebrity appearances are expected to be announced in the coming days.
Thanks to Mara for the confirmation that Nicole and her Nine co-stars (Kate, Penelope, Marion & Daniel!) will be on Oprah on Wednesday November 18th. They filmed the show today, and audience members were treated to a screening of the film yesterday.

Nicole attended another country music awards ceremony with her husband last night, this time it was the Country Music Association Awards. She looked gorgeous in a pink (L’Wren Scott?) dress with loose red locks. Photos will be added soon (time constraints at the moment), but I’ve posted a couple of previews in this post, and there are more at the forum.
Nicole Kidman watches as Keith Urban loses out to Taylor Swift at Country Music Awards
A glamorous-looking Nicole Kidman’s presence at the Country Music Awards did not stop her husband Keith Urban losing out to Taylor Swift as the star of the night. Kidman, in a revealing red dress, watched as Urban was pipped to three awards by the 19-year-old Swift. Swift beat him to the Best Album, Best Music Video and Entertainer of the Year awards, also winning the Best Female Vocalist prize. Urban was given the Musical Event of the Year award, shared with Brad Paisley, although that award had already been announced before the Nashville, Tennessee ceremony began. Paisley also took the Best Male Vocalist, again ahead of Urban. Kidman consoled her husband by blowing him a kiss from the front row as he performed his hit single ‘Til Summer Comes Around on stage.
Nicole Kidman – actress, mom of three and wife of country star Keith Urban – wants to know what you want to know! As the busy Oscar winner (and ex of Tom Cruise) sits down with PEOPLE for an interview, this is your opportunity to ask her a question. The 42-year-old Aussie native is keeping busy, serving as Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) and next appearing in the musical Nine (Yes, she sings!), costarring Kate Hudson and Daniel Day-Lewis and coming out Christmas Day. Send us your question and it may appear in an upcoming issue of PEOPLE!
Some of country music’s biggest stars turned out in Nashville last night for the BMI Awards, which honor the year’s best in songwriting. Taylor Swift was fresh off her SNL appearance to take a turn down the red carpet in white before she went onstage to accept an award for “Love Story.” Nicole Kidman was there to keep her husband Keith Urban company as they laughed their way through the evening. The BMIs are a precursor to tonight’s big CMA Awards, where tons of country singers will come out to celebrate the genre. Both Keith and Taylor are in the running for Entertainer of the Year, so we can expect to see the duo back out again this evening.
Details on promotional events & appearances for Nine are starting to hit the web, so I’ve added a Calendar & Alerts section to the sidebar. I’ll update that as I hear of new events, and if you hear of anything then please let me know!
GQ scans were posted in the forum last weekend, so hop on over there to view them – the photos are absolutely gorgeous! Be sure to pick up a copy if you can!
I noticed the Contact page wasn’t working here, so I’ve fixed that and you can now contact me again through that form. Sorry about that problem. You can also leave a comment on the updates, send me a tweet, send me a PM on the forum if that form doesn’t work.
I’ve also re-opened commenting in the Gallery so you can now comment on photos in there again! Please do not abuse this and ‘spam’, ie just posting smiley’s. I may have to close this feature again if ‘spambots’ re-emerge and start posting inappropriate stuff.
Nicole attended the BMI Country Awards with her husband last night, so stay tuned for pictures from that event soon…!
To promote its upcoming holiday tentpole “Nine,” the Weinstein Co. has turned to Disney in a big way.
In its largest promotion to date, Disney/ABC Unlimited — the sales group that handles Disney’s cross-platform media deals — has sealed a megapact with Weinstein that will embed content about “Nine” on a wide variety of shows, including ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and daytime sudsers.
Under the arrangement, a themed dance number on the Nov. 17 episode of “Stars” will be set to the “Nine” song “Be Italian.” Dancers will also wear outfits from the movie.
Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz and Dame Judi Dench broke down in tears when they finished shooting movie musical Nine – because they had become such good friends on-set
The actresses enjoyed wining and dining together throughout filming and they couldn’t bear to be parted when the shoot wrapped.
Screen veteran Loren says, “It was like being a family. We were so happy. Everyone thought that all these actresses together would start a fire or something, but we got on so well.
“Nicole Kidman had her baby with her all the time and seemed so contented when her husband (Keith Urban) came on the set; Judi Dench was so funny in that way only the English can be, and Penelope Cruz was very Spanish. We all sang and we all danced and we were drunk with music on the set. We cried when we parted, which is something that generally doesn’t happen on films.”
