NO, they are not the United Nations Awards, nor are they the Australian of the Year Awards – these are significantly more important.
It’s that time of year where you get to choose who really deserves the honor and the glory of winning a Sydney Confidential People’s Choice Award – otherwise known as the Choicies.
Yesterday you voted on the Man of the Year Choicie and celebrities around Australia are fretting over the results.
Today we bring you the nominations for Woman of the Year, followed tomorrow by Newcomer of the Year, Best Visiting Celebrity of the Year and on Saturday, the big one, the coveted Gold Choicie for Celebrity of the Year.
Vote using the form at the bottom of this page. The results of all five categories will be revealed next Monday (19th).
And now, the nominations for the Woman of the Year Choicie …
Naomi Watts: After more than a decade trying to make the big time, she’s landed in King Kong’s lap and into Hollywood history.
Missy Higgins: Multi-ARIA award winner and all-round nice chick, Higgo’s had a year to remember.
Bec Hewitt: For services to comedy through romantic poetry.
Kylie Minogue: With half a world tour down when cancer struck, Kylie somehow found a winning reserve of strength.

Nicole Kidman: Not so hot on the flick front this year but she’s finally nabbed a good Aussie lad.
